Minor Hotels has announced the debut of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in Italy, with the addition of a property in Portopiccolo near Trieste, in northern Italy. The 58-key Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort will launch later this month.
The hotel, a former member of the Marriott Luxury Collection, is now part of the Portopiccolo complex owned by the Porto Piccolo Fund, managed by Investire SGR (Group Banca Finnat), an independent Italian asset management company.
Located in the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve on the Gulf of Trieste, the property is within 20 minutes’ drive of Trieste Airport and features 58 guestrooms and 73 branded apartments. The mixed-use development of Portopiccolo overlooks the Adriatic Sea with a luxury marina, allowing access to multiple ocean adventures.
Besides several accommodation options, the Portopiccolo complex offers guests a range of facilities, including four restaurants and two bars, six swimming pools, a beach club, a wellness and fitness center, and a 38,750-square-foot spa. The spa offers eight treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite, an outdoor and an indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms. Tivoli Portopiccolo also offers 12,916 square feet of meeting space, equipped with the latest technology.
With a history that dates to 1933 in Lisbon, and celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has expanded from Portugal to Brazil and from Qatar to China and the Netherlands, currently with a portfolio of 16 properties. With this upcoming debut in Italy, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in Europe where it recently added a property in Amsterdam, an all-inclusive resort in Alvor in the Algarve, and will soon launch in Tenerife. Additionally, the brand made its Asia debut in 2022 with the launch of Tivoli Chengdu at Cultural Heritage Park in China. It is expanding its footprint in the Middle East, where Minor Hotels operates three Tivoli properties in Qatar, with two new-build properties under development in Bahrain to launch in 2025 and in Muscat, slated to open in 2026.
