Ever check in at a hotel and know you’re in for a bad time? A Monday morning discussion on Twitter saw travelers sharing some of the red flags that would send them running at check-in time.
There were the lack of amenities:
#YoureAtABadHotelIf the pamphlet lists the gas station across the street as a "local attraction" and 7-11 as a (4-star) "restaurant."

The Hotel Bar consists of a box of wine, a stool, and a glass
The suspect customer service:
#YoureAtABadHotelIf when you check in, the guy at the counter asks if you're really sure you want to stay here.

Of course, cleanliness is always important:

An ominous sense you’ve seen all this before:

And, of course, the most terrifying thing of all:

If you’re interested in a hotel that won’t become a sad Twitter meme, a number of new options are set to open soon worldwide. At the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Disney released an inside look at a new Star Wars-themed hotel. For Jimmy Buffet fans, Margaritaville has announced plans to open new resorts in both Costa Rica and the United States. For a more classic option, the historic Hyatt Carmel Highlands just wrapped the biggest renovation project in its 100-year history ahead of the property’s centennial anniversary. Also in California, the boutique Dream Hollywood just opened in downtown Los Angeles with a plan to act as the neighborhood’s newest social hub. In the Caribbean, Hyatt’s all-inclusive Ziva and Zilara brands are set to open new locations in Punta Cana.
