The Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has announced the launch of its multiphase renovation project set to debut in the winter of 2019-2020.
The first phase of the project will refurbish the beachfront with the introduction of a new Beach Club, Beach Bar & Outdoor Grill, Family Pool and lounge area, expanded beachfront, Beach Boutique, and new recreation and event spaces. New York-based designer Tom Scheerer is leading interior design of the new Beach Club facilities, while architect Craig Reynolds of Key West is guiding landscaping to complement the enhancements.
The project is budgeted at $9.2 million, which includes upgrades to the infrastructure of the property’s water supply network. The first phase of refurbishment is scheduled for completion by November 15, 2019.
Beachfront Hospitality
The Beach Club’s new Beach Bar & Grill will introduce a gathering spot for The Tryall Club’s guests and owners alike. Located above the beach and west of the pool deck facing the sea, the Beach Bar’s interior will be fashioned by Scheerer in shades of pink and sea foam green, contrasting the blue hues of the Caribbean Sea.
The Beach Bar & Grill will be located adjacent to a new Activities Lawn and Sand Volleyball Court, each providing a venue for daytime and evening fun. On the opposite side of the Family Pool, a new East Event Lawn will offer a setting to host events and wedding parties for dinners and cocktail receptions.
The Sands & Swimming Pool
The Beach Club will also renovate the seafront setting of The Tryall Club, expanding The Family Beach 100+ feet landwards from the shoreline. The sands will be equipped with chaise lounges and umbrellas, while new watersports equipment will be offered at the western edge of the beach. Landscaping by architect Reynolds will add assorted trees and foliage to provide shade and privacy.
The Family Pool area is also being updated with an expanded deck, offering a new infinity pool overlooking the beach. Like the sands, the pool deck will also offer chaise lounges and umbrellas as well as trees and foliage.
The Club’s Beach Boutique and Tour Desk will sit adjacent to the Family Pool, offering a selection of resort wear, gifts available for purchase and waterfront adventures that guests can book.
More Enhancements to Come
The current refurbishment follows close behind the renovation of The Tryall Club’s Golf Course, which was completed in 2017. There is much more ahead for the current project. Summer 2020 will see the creation of a new Beach Restaurant & Bar located along the waterfront east of the Beach Club. There will be new updates to members spaces and staff areas within the Great House and The Tryall Club will also launch its first-ever spa.
