Urban Cowboy Lodge in New York State's Catskills has announced a significant expansion following the acquisition of Slide Mountain Inn, a historic hotel that sits adjacent to the lodge. Now spanning 120 acres, “Urban Cowboy Lodge & Resort” will unveil an array of new amenities and accommodations.
Urban Cowboy Lodge & Resort’s list of amenities now also includes an old-school bowling alley, shuffleboard court, tennis court, pool and arcade. The property now features 4,000 feet of Esopus Creek frontage and six established hiking trails, including paths leading to the summit of Slide Mountain, the highest peak in the region. Guests can also enjoy Ralph’s, the historic bar named after the property’s original owner, offering casual dining and classic seasonal fare inspired by the German heritage of the Catskills. A pizza oven will also be introduced closer to summer for visitors to enjoy pies by the pool.
The expansion brings 16 new rooms and two standalone houses, both of which are equipped with a full kitchen and four bedrooms—ideal for families or groups. With a total of 24 additional beds, a 60-seat private dining room, an 80-person indoor event space and two picturesque outdoor sites perfect for tented events, Urban Cowboy Lodge & Resort is now equipped to host weddings of up to 200 guests with accommodations for up to 100 guests. To ensure seamless event planning, Urban Cowboy Lodge has partnered with Décarie Creative to manage all group sales and events.
A standout feature of the expansion is the climbable treenet, an interactive playground and art installation crafted by Treenet Collective. Suspended 40 feet in the air, the fully enclosed treenet offers panoramic views of the Catskills, creating an ideal setting for sunsets and adventure.
