Beachfront resort Vidanta Riviera Maya’s new outdoor market opened this week and will soon be publicly accessible. Salum Beachside Eateries and Market hosts eight restaurants, three bars, a Mexican market, live music and a range of entertainment.
To celebrate the grand opening, Salum hosted a gathering of up-and-coming designers, artists and brands. A part of Mexico’s current art, craft and fashion scene, the entrepreneurs’ work preserve Mexican traditions while aiding their communities’ economic development.
Salum’s outdoor market will permanently offer local handmade goods. Mercado Mexico features thirteen individual popups selling local crafts as well as clothing, coffee, churros and more.
Visitors can sit in view of the Caribbean from one of the market’s eight food offerings or three bars. Huama Cerveceria serves craft beer from Yucatan and Quintana Roo. La Sombrita Beach Bar creates cocktails for guests to drink in lounge chairs, hammocks, swings or cabanas. Robayaki Grill & Sushi offers sushi dishes made from Mexican seafood. Aloreña serves charcuterie boards, tapas, cheeses, hams, breads and wines. Other options include Waves n’ Tacos, La Cantina and Quinto.
Vidanta Riviera Maya is located on the Eastern Yucatan Peninsula. Guests can see the resident Cirque du Soleil show, visit a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, dine at upscale restaurants, go to spas and more.
