Viva Wyndham Resorts has announced that Viva Wyndham Azteca will reopen its doors on November 1, 2021 following extensive renovations totaling more than $6 million. The reopening of the all-inclusive, oceanfront resort located in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, home to white sand beaches in the Playacar complex, coincides with the reopening of Viva Wyndham V Heavens located in the Playa Dorada complex in Puerto Plata, the Dominican Republic. V Heavens Resort features a range of facilities including a full-service spa and a Robert Trent Jones Sr. signature golf course. Both resort openings complete the reopening of all eight of Viva Wyndham resorts across its portfolio.
The renovation project at Viva Wyndham Azteca includes upgrades to all room categories, including Superior Rooms which feature Mexican-inspired décor and modern technology, with ocean, pool and garden views. While the lobby and public areas feature new décor, a full renovation has been completed at the snack bar with Mexican-inspired design elements. The restaurants, El Nopal Buffet and Il Palco, Italian a la carte, have also undergone a complete refurbishment with new décor, high-end flooring and beautiful color schemes.
For those who love nightlife, Viva Wyndham Azteca features an entertainment line-up that includes live shows and performances. Guests can also enjoy non-stop action with activities ranging from non-motorized water sports to a weekly handicrafts market, culinary classes showcasing Mexican cuisine, dance lessons and themed parties. Guests of all ages can enjoy a range of relaxing and fun-filled activities, including dozens of land and water sports – with equipment and instruction included – such as sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, TRX, tennis and fitness classes. Children can also go for a dip in the new kids’ pool.
Additionally, guests will have access to the amenities of the resort’s sister property Maya, located next door, making for a total of eight restaurants and five bars to enjoy.
Viva Wyndham V Heavens offers its guests an adults-only vacation experience with an expansive pool just steps away from a full bar. Guest can enjoy a Jacuzzi, or explore the cuisine at the property’s five dining options: V Kitchen, an international buffet-style restaurant; Blend, which offers fusion cuisine; Rosmarino, which dishes out Italian specialties; Puebla 222, which serves Mexican cuisine; and Sofrito, which features authentic Dominican flavors. For those who prefer to dine in-room, 24-hour room service is also available.
