W New Orleans – French Quarter has debuted the multimillion-dollar renovation of its 97 updated guestrooms and carriage houses. Led by Canadian design firm Chapi Chapo Design, each design element has been curated with the intention of transporting guests behind the hotel’s facade and immersing them in the renowned swamplands of the bayou.
A bold navy backdrop with French-style wall moldings distinguishes the bedroom from the seating area in each guestroom with an open-floor plan. Touches of Sazerac orange—the official spirit of New Orleans—are present throughout the design, and the rooms are completed with marble coffee tables, gold hardware, soft lighting and framed black-and-white line drawings of Jazz singers in action.
From the Spanish Moss-inspired sconces to the custom-made floor lamps that project a backlit visual of an ornate bayou canopy onto the ceiling, the redesign was curated to give guests the authentic and intimate vibe of a sanctuary, where local touches are never too distant. Each room’s MIX Bar (minibar) was designed with nods to a treasure chest, an homage to Louisiana’s famed lore about the character Jean Lafitte, a French pirate who hid his treasure in the bayou.
W New Orleans – French Quarter is home to Cajun-creole signature dining outpost, 3rd Block Depot; private meeting rooms; an intimate courtyard space; a heated pool; and more. The hotel is located in the heart of New Orleans, where guests can experience cobblestone streets, historic buildings and live music as they explore the city.
