W Punta de Mita is sporting a modern and sophisticated look following a $3 million renovation inclusive to its jungle view guestrooms, oceanfront suites, restaurants and public spaces.
At the resort’s newly redesigned Living Room and Welcome Area, modern furnishings are decorated with handmade native artwork, while a new boutique called La Caty is dedicated exclusively to local designers. Redesigned interiors with hammocks and cozy spaces for lounging are adjacent to a bar centered around a runway consisting of over 750,000 mosaic tiles with designs inspired by the local Wixarika tribe. It stretches all the way out to the ocean.
Tucked beneath the Sierra Madre Mountains, W Punta de Mita’s accommodations have custom décor sourced from local artisans, immersing guests in the traditions of the native Huichol tribe. The resort’s Spectacular Jungle Rooms have been redesigned, complete with new plunge pools, outdoor showers, hammocks and plush loungers. Gardens and fire pits have been added to the property’s newly renovated Haven Suites with private terraces.
As the resort continues to grow its room inventory into 2023, there are plans to debut an additional eight new suites: Five Marvelous Beachfront Suites with large soaking tubs set within indoor gardens; two Fantastic Beachfront Suites with private rooftops that offer ocean views; and a completely redesigned signature E-Wow Suite, offering a kitchen with white marble walls and countertops, and an ocean-facing living and dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows.
Wet TOO, the adults-only pool, is also sporting a redesigned pool deck, new boho-inspired furnishings and the addition of full-service F&B offerings. A complete renovation of one of the resort’s two beachfront restaurants, a seafood eatery that flanks the pool, is slated to unveil mid-December 2022.
Set to debut in spring 2023, Rubra is a restaurant by Mexican celebrity chef Daniela Soto-Innes, who showcases her culinary talents at Cosme and Atlas in New York City alongside Casamata culinary group partners Santiago Perez and Enrique Olvera, whose concepts include Pujol in Mexico City and the new Damian in Los Angeles.
