Waldorf Astoria Leads a Busy Year of Hilton Openings

As Hilton enters the second quarter of the year, the hospitality company is debuting several new properties, as well as renovations. Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is set to have a busy spring with the return of Waldorf Astoria New York, as well as the opening of the brand’s first hotels in Japan and Costa Rica, with Waldorf Astoria Osaka and Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, both opening in April. Additionally the extended-stay brand LivSmart Studios by Hilton will debut this quarter, with openings in Kokomo, Ind. and Tullahoma, Tenn. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come.

Waldorf Astoria

For nearly a century, Waldorf Astoria New York has been a fixture of New York City society. Following a restoration effort led by architects from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and interior design by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the property will retain the scale of the original Art Deco architecture with fresh contemporary furnishings. The 375-room hotel will house some of Manhattan’s largest rooms and suites. Above the hotel will sit 372 private residences, ranging from studios to four bedrooms. Residents will have exclusive access to 50,000 square feet of amenities and an art collection curated by Swiss collector and auctioneer Simon de Pury.

In addition, hotel guests, residents and visitors will have access to a holistic wellness program, including a spa spanning over 30,000 square feet and a fitness center, culinary offerings with a signature restaurant helmed by acclaimed Chef Michael Anthony, the return of Peacock Alley in partnership with renowned mixologist Jeff Bell and 43,000 square feet of event space including a new opera-inspired Grand Ballroom.

The Waldorf Astoria brand will make its debut in Japan in spring 2025 with Waldorf Astoria Osaka. Opening this April, the hotel will span 12 floors of a 39-story high-rise in the south district of the new Grand Green Osaka urban mixed-use development, adjacent to Osaka station (which offers easy access to the cities of Kyoto, Nara and Kobe). The hotel will have 252 guestrooms as well as three restaurants, including the signature Peacock Alley with triple-height ceilings, panoramic views of the skyline and Peacock Terrace, a rare outdoor food and beverage space. The Waldorf Astoria Spa rounds out the amenities.
