Following multi-million-dollar renovations, Westin Hotels & Resorts has opened the brand’s sixth hotel in Hawaii, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. Located near Hapuna Beach on the Kohala Coast, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort joined Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as part of the larger Mauna Kea Resort property.
Formerly the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Westin’s newest resort introduces improved guestrooms and suites, four new drinking and dining establishments, renovated public spaces, a completely new adults-only pool and an enhanced family pool.
The resort now includes 17 new suites in addition to its 232 guestrooms. The new lobby and common areas bring the island’s vegetation inside with a unique living wall and vertical garden, emphasizing the resort’s connection to nature.
Guests can also head to the resort’s all-new adults-only infinity edge pool. Along the pool they will be able to relax in private cabanas, chaise lounges and pool ledge loungers. For those traveling with kids, the resort updated its already existing family pool.
Four new dining options are available to guests now. Mediterranean restaurant Meridia offers al fresco dining and a charcuterie and crudo bar. Naupaka Beach Grill serves Pacific Rim inspired food and sells a variety of local brews. In the mornings, guests can head to the outdoor breakfast area ‘Ikena Landing or to the hotel’s barista bar, Piko Coffee + Bar.
Travelers who want to stay in shape while away from home can visit the hotel’s CrossFit studio or the WestinWORKOUT fitness studio. For those who would prefer to exercise outside, the hotel’s Run Concierge leads a guided run through the resort’s RunWESTIN program.
