African Travel, Inc. recently tapped Garrett Landry as the new district sales manager for the Northwestern United States. Landry, a Seattle native, will be overseeing the brand’s sales in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and parts of Northern California.
Landry attended the University of Washington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing, in addition to a certificate in sales.
Prior to joining African Travel, Inc., Landry spent a year as a marketing coordinator for Europe Express before being promoted to inside sales specialist, a position which involved the maintenance of agent relationships, attending trade shows and serving as a liaison between the outside sales team and the internal teams. He worked in that role for two years to improve processes and systems that aimed to increase accessibility to product and streamline booking for agents. Prior that he was an executive team lead at a Seattle-area Target store.
Landry is a passionate sports fan, who did sales and marketing internships while in college for both Seattle Reign, the city’s women’s soccer team and for UW Intercollegiate Athletics. He is also a member of the Seattle chapter of Young Travel Professionals. He is also an avid road cyclist and ultimate Frisbee player.
Garrett says his love of travel began at a young age, during his family’s many road trips through the 50 states. He has visited dozens of countries in Central and South America, Europe and the Caribbean. He hopes his new appointment will bring an opportunity to visit the continent of Africa for the first time.
