Four Seasons Resort Nevis has named Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Regional Vice President Yvette Thomas-Henry as its newest general manager, effective January 2. Additionally, this week, the resort named Ruby Garcia as its new resort manager. The appointments further positions Nevis as a leader in executive diversity, as it now features women in the top two leadership roles for the very first time.
Born in St. Thomas and raised in St. Croix, Thomas-Henry is returning home to the region, becoming the first Caribbean native to serve in the top position in Nevis or any other Four Seasons property in the Caribbean. In addition to her role in Nevis overseeing the property, Thomas-Henry is also responsible for the operational oversight of several Four Seasons properties, including two Caribbean resorts.
Prior to joining Four Seasons Resort Nevis, Thomas-Henry served as GM of Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta since 2015, during which time she received a promotion to regional vice president of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in 2018. Thomas-Henry began working for Four Seasons in 2007, holding leadership positions at Four Seasons Hotel New York and Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC. She also spent time with Loews Hotels, The Plaza Hotel, The Waldorf Astoria New York and The Ritz-Carlton, Boston.
As for the new resort manager: Ruby Garcia is a 17-year luxury hospitality veteran, most recently coming from Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi, Thailand, where she served as general manager. As resort manager, Garcia will lead the day-to-day operations of the resort.
Garcia was a part of the Phulay Bay team since 2017, where she contributed to making it one of the top three hotels on guest satisfaction for Marriott Luxury Asia Pacific. Before then, she served as executive assistant manager in the rooms division for the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives, where she helped increase guest satisfaction and quality assurance scores, as well as repeat guest stay ratios. Her previous North American and Caribbean experience also includes stints with Mandarin Oriental in Boston and Bermuda, and Parrot Cay Resort & COMO Shambhala Retreat in Turks and Caicos.
These appointments come on the heels of the launch of an updated look for Four Seasons Resort Nevis, which, over the past two years has underwent a multi-phase renovation. Updates included refreshed guestrooms, suites and the Great House lobby; the opening of new dining outlets; a new space for the Kids for All Seasons kids club; a new pier to welcome guests upon arrival; and a new signature infinity-edge pool at the center of the resort.
