Club Med, which has all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and beyond, has appointed Josie Bielmeier as the new director of sales strategy for the East region of the United States.
In her role, Bielmeier oversees the creation and execution of the company’s sales strategy, and will manage the field sales teams in the U.S. market.
Bielmeier joins Club Med with more than 20 years of experience within the travel industry, both on the agency and supplier side. She began her career at Radisson Seven Seas Cruise Line, which led her to hold a variety of titles in the travel industry, including sales manager for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, business development manager for Corporate Traveler and FCM Travel Solutions, and sales and product trainer for Flight Centre USA.
“Josie’s diverse background and varied experiences will prove to be a great asset to the Club Med team as we continue fostering the relationship with our valued travel partners,” said Michelle Lardizabal, vice president of U.S. sales at Club Med, in a written release. “Her dedication to the industry and vast knowledge will play an important role during this exciting time of growth for our company.”
Club Med recently unveiled their global expansion strategy to launch 15 new resorts by the end of 2020, including a return to North America through the creation of the first-ever resort in Canada, located in Le Massif de Charlevoix.
Prior to Club Med, Bielmeier worked as the senior manager of international sales and marketing for Tauck. She expanded the company’s growth by pursuing new sales opportunities with key partners and extending industry relations through networking across the travel industry.
As part of her position, she developed passenger accounts across the United Kingdom, South Pacific and Asia, which resulted in a 400 percent increase in the company’s portfolio.
Club Med operates in more than 30 countries with an international staff of more than 23,000 employees from more than 110 different nationalities.
