Michelle Holmes Joins Travel Experts in Executive Support Role

Michelle Holmes, Virtuoso's former account director for member relations, has joined Travel Experts as executive support manager. Her role will be to assist with various Travel Experts’ projects, including the Travel Experts Advisory Board, ILTM and DUCO conferences, as well as help with supplier and client relations and resolutions.

Holmes has had a long, successful travel industry career after attending Creighton University and a travel school in Omaha, NE. Her first job was with Travel and Transport (now CTM) in Omaha, where she grew and blossomed through various positions over 41 years. Over the years at Travel and Transport she worked in many units within the company including business travel, leisure travel, meetings and incentives and loyalty programs. Her responsibilities included sales, service and operations. During her tenure at Travel and Transport, Virtuoso members elected her to represent the North Central Region on the Virtuoso Global Member Advisory Board where she represented the regional members for Virtuoso for several years.

In 2020, Holmes decided to take a position at Virtuoso as account director for member relations where she was the liaison for the North Central Region and other Virtuoso member agencies, including Travel Experts.

In late 2024 she decided that she wanted to reduce her work hours and retired from Virtuoso. Shortly after her departure from Virtuoso she was approached by Sharon Fake, executive director for Travel Experts with an opportunity to join their Executive Team.

“Michelle Holmes brings extensive experience in the luxury leisure and corporate travel business and we are excited to add her to our management team,” said Fake. “She will broaden our scope of assistance that we now provide to both our affiliated advisors as well as our supplier partners.”

Holmes is a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) and Certified Engagement Practitioner (CEP).
