A number of tour operators and major hotel companies made new executive appointments this week.
At Four Seasons, Yvette Thomas-Henry has been promoted to regional vice president of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Thomas-Henry, who will remain general manager at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, will now also be responsible for the operations at Four Seasons Resort Nevis and Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.
In other luxury hotel news, this week AccorHotels named Emlyn Brown its vice president, wellbeing for the company’s luxury and upper-upscale brands. Emlyn joins AccorHotels from Resense Spas S.A, where he most recently held the position of global design director and was responsible for managing corporate strategies, wellbeing concepts and related design services.
Wellness brand Canyon Ranch also announced a number of new executive appointments this week. Kerry Kennedy has joined the company as its vice president of digital and innovation, while Doris Lopez has been named vice president of health and healing. Lisa Fisher has been named the director of sales, marketing and communications for the Canyon Ranch Tucson while, at the Canyon Ranch Lenox, Dan Hardy has joined the team as the property’s new executive chef.
A number of individual properties also made new leadership appointments this week:
- The Shinola Hotel, set to open in Detroit this December, announced the appointment of Elliott Broom as general manager and Sol Andrews as food and beverage director.
- Marriott Irvine Spectrum named Dianne Markis its new general manager.
- InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort appointed James Morrison as its resort zoologist, with a focus on the property’s wildlife conservation and ecosystem preservation initiatives.
- The Rose Hotel Chicago O’Hare, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opening close to the airport this November, appointed Dana Solomon as its director of sales and marketing.
In tour operator news, this week Topdeck Travel, which focuses on group travel for 18- to 39-year-olds, appointed Anna Fawcett as its new global head of marketing. She joins the brand from VisitBritain, following stints in both London and New York.
Also this week Dora Karanikas joined Hidden Doorways, a KAA Travel Collection (formerly Kurtz-Ahlers & Associates) as a New York City-based sales consultant, overseeing accounts in the Northeastern region. Karanikas recently returned to Hidden Doorways after serving two years as Virtuoso’s Northeast regional director of global member partnerships.
Finally, in destination news, this week the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau hired Liz Kara and Jennifer Sena as regional directors of sales. Kara will serve the Midwest market from Chicago, and Sena will serve the Northeast from her New York City area office.
