Alila Napa Valley has announced the appointment of Heidi Miersemann as general manager. She joins Alila Napa Valley with 25 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, most recently at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa. Her move to Napa Valley is a return to her home in wine country, bringing with her experience with Hyatt, Hilton and Starwood. She has a history of serving as a board member in destination resort communities, including the Convention and Visitors Bureau’s in Lake Tahoe, Sonoma County and Napa Valley, as well as serving as board director of membership for Meeting Professionals International, Northern California Chapter.
In this new role, Miersemann is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort, including Spa Alila, the Acacia House restaurant, and the special events Estate Barn.
Miersemann graduated with her bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned the Convention Industry Council’s Certified Meeting Professional designation. She completed Starwood Hotels and Resort’s Leadership curriculum and was invited into and concluded Hyatt’s LEAD program. Miersemann was also selected and accomplished a year of General Manager mentorship through Hyatt’s GM Mentorship program.
Dean Lane has been named as the new general manager of The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, FL. The 1,000-room resort, which was recently purchased by Trinity Investments for $835 million dollars, is operated by Hilton as a global flagship location of its Curio Collection. Lane will lead the team in all aspects of the resort operations, from team leadership to experiential development, guest services and satisfaction.
Prior to joining The Diplomat Beach Resort, Lane served as Hilton area general manager in the Chicago/Midwest region, overseeing the operations of five Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Prior, he served as GM of Palmer House, a Hilton Hotel where he played a large role in the four-year $140 million renovation of the property, resulting in record-breaking revenue and market share gains. With more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, Lane began his hospitality career at the MGM Grand Hotel in Reno, a property with 2,000 rooms, where he was involved in the $220 million renovation of the property as executive assistant manager.
The Cloudveil, an Autograph Collection hotel in Jackson Hole, WY, has appointed Pablo Migoya as general manager. Bringing more than two decades of luxury hospitality experience to this role, Migoya is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the 100-room hotel, which is located in the center of town, nearby its boutique shops, restaurants and galleries. Migoya’s 25-plus-year hospitality career includes numerous award-winning hotels and marquee brands, including his most recent position as managing director of Hotel Hugo in New York City. He was also an instrumental member in creating the original Thompson Hotels in 2001 alongside the ownership group, helping the brand successfully reach its goal of opening 12 hotels in 12 years.
Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel, a recently renovated oceanfront hotel in South Beach’s Art Deco District, announced that Amanda Rodriguez has joined the property as director of sales and marketing. Born and raised in Miami, Rodriguez is a tenured hospitality professional, with more than 15 years of experience in the industry. In her new role, she will oversee Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel’s sales and marketing team to develop strategies that will continue to propel the hotel forward as a leader in the market.
A graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management, Rodriguez worked her way through college at the front desk of The Delano in South Beach. In 2010, she joined the team at The Standard Miami, initially as the executive assistant to the property’s general manager and was later promoted to sales manager. In 2018, Rodriguez became the property’s director of sales and catering, managing all sales aspects of the hotel to achieve annual sales targets.
