Hotel search engine HotelsCombined.com has tracked its booking statistics for the upcoming year and has determined the 10 most popular travel destinations for 2010.
1. London
2. Paris
3. Dubai
4. New York
5. Bangkok
6. Rome
7. Hong Kong
8. Barcelona
9. Sydney
10. Singapore
One of the most budget friendly cities, Bangkok, and one of the highest cost destinations, Dubai, are both within the top five destinations. “This indicates travelers are making their travel choices based on the destination’s unique experience and not solely on overall cost,” said HotelsCombined.com General Manager Michael Doubinski.
While overall travel spending has recently rebounded as the worldwide economic conditions recover, travelers are still taking advantage of and seeking out competitive deals. According to a December 2009 Gallup Poll, 30 percent of Americans plan to spend less on hotels in 2010 than they did in 2009.
