Amadeus, a travel technology company, has acquired TravelClick from Thoma Bravo for USD $1.52 billion.
The travel software company will be part of Amadeus’s' Hospitality customer unit that will be led by Francisco Pérez -Lozao. It will be a categorical entity, becoming “TravelClick, an Amadeus company.”
TravelClick is a hospitality global provider serving over 25,000 customers across more than 170 countries. It offers cloud-based solutions like an independent and mid-size hotel Central Reservation System (CRS) and Guest Management Solution (GMS), along with media solutions and business intelligence. This portfolio gives places of stay distribution reach across both digital and traditional channels. They can upgrade digital interaction with those who stay, increase revenues and performance, reduce costs and improve their brands.
From the acquisition, more than 1,000 TravelClick employees will transfer to Amadeus with immediate effect.
Amadeus’ acquisition of TravelClick has now received all necessary regulatory approvals, including competition clearance in all relevant markets.
Amadeus’s customers include travel providers (e.g. airlines, hotels, rail and ferry operators, etc.), travel sellers (travel agencies and websites), and travel buyers (corporations and travel management companies). The company employs more than 15,000 people around the world and conducts business in over 190 countries. The company has central sites in Spain (corporate headquarters), France (development) and Germany (operations), and offices in more than 60 countries around the world.
