Amadeus Renews Partnership With BCD Travel

Amadeus has announced the renewal of a multi-year global distribution agreement with BCD Travel. As a result of this agreement, BCD Travel will have access to extensive travel content on Amadeus. The deal strengthens the two companies’ relationship as long-term partners.

BCD Travel’s clients operating across 23 countries around the globe will benefit from technology including Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Ticket Changer and Amadeus Master Pricer.

Rose Stratford, EVP, Global Supplier Relations & Strategic Sourcing, BCD Travel said: “We aim to bring the best service and most extensive choice to our customers. Working with Amadeus plays a key role in helping us to achieve this. Amadeus’ support continues to be a crucial part of our growth strategy in coming years, and we look forward to building on our relationship in the future.”

Recently, Amadeus partnered with other companies and invested in new technology. In December 2017, it was announced that Aktau International Airport in Kazakhstan chose Amadeus as a long-term IT partner. The airport now implements the Amadeus Airport Common Use Service (ACUS) that will let airlines and ground handlers use a single platform from a desktop computer or laptop, enabling passengers to be checked-in from any location. Biarritz Airport in France decided to implement the ACUS technology as well.

Also in December, Amadeus invested in Situm, an “indoor GPS” startup for travelers at airports, train stations or conference centers. Amadeus Ventures co-invested in Situm with Unirisco and Xesgalicia. Amadeus Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Amadeus IT group, is a travel venture program which invests in start-ups sitting at the crossroads of travel and technology. Amadeus launched this initiative in 2014 and Situm is the latest addition to a portfolio.
