The American Society of Travel Advisors announced that executives from Hilton, Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean will participate in its 2019 global convention. Running from August 25-27, the ASTA Global Convention will bring in Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton; Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc; Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line; and Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
Held at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the convention will be three days of education and entertainment designed to help attendees grow their business. The convention plans to address new technologies, new business models in lodging and cruising, changes in travel distribution and more. Open-forum conversations with industry leaders will provide insight into how travel advisors should meet the constantly evolving travel business.
Recently rebranded as the American Society of Travel Advisors, ASTA is a global advocate for travel advisors, the travel industry and the traveling public. Since its founding in 1931 it has sought to facilitate travel business through effective representation, shared knowledge and enhanced professionalism. ASTA members make up 80 percent of all travel sold in the United States through the travel agency distribution channel. Its ASTA Global Convention brings in over 1,000 travel professionals from more than 200 travel suppliers.
