The American Society of Travel Advisors has picked Randi Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Zuckerberg Media, to keynote its 2019 Global Convention. She will speak at the event’s general session on August 27 and guest judge the competition for the 2019 ASTA Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The former director of market development and spokesperson for Facebook, Zuckerberg is also an entrepreneur, investor and bestselling author. She will speak to guests about technology, entrepreneurship and her work at Facebook.
Late last fall, ASTA announced that four executives from major hotel and cruise companies would attend the convention. These speakers included Chris Nassetta, the president and CEO of Hilton; Arnold W. Donald, the president and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc; Andy Stuart, the president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line; and Michael Bayley, the president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
Held in Fort Lauderdale at the Diplomat Beach Resort, the ASTA Global Convention will run from August 25 to 27, feature over 200 exhibitors, include 25 educational sessions and host 1,000 attendees. Over the course of the three-day convention guests will be able to attend education sessions and trade shows, learn about new technologies and business models and listen to open-forum conversations with major leaders in the travel industry.
