CroisiEurope River Cruises has announced that Michael DaCosta will become the cruise line's general manager for North America. John McGlade will become director of sales, managing key accounts and working with the brand’s national sales team.
Michael DaCosta previously worked as the company’s marketing manager in North America. His tasks were to grow partnerships within the trade, manage activities to promote the brand in North America, oversee print and digital marketing and work with CroisiEurope’s public relations team.
DaCosta joined CroisiEurope in 2013, when the company launched its U.S. call center, and he became manager of FIT sales and operations in 2015.
CroisiEurope is considered one of the largest river cruise lines, with more than 55 ships in its fleet. The company says its new GM will highlight the value and opportunity that it brings with its catalogue of cruises, experience, and customer service in North America. Aside from its European river cruises, CroisiEurope’s fleet includes canal barges in France, coastal Mediterranean cruises, the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia, and the company's newest endeavor: a safari-style cruise on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe.
Next month, CroisiEurope is launching a seven-day cruise on the Rhone, sailing roundtrip from Lyon through France. The cruise will focus on the region's food and wine.
