“The Independent brands of Liberty Travel and Flight Centre are ready for further expansion in the U.S., Canada and around the world,” founder and CEO Graham Turner said at the recent inaugural Global Independent Summit.
The three-day event held in Brisbane, Australia brought together senior leaders from the company’s independent brands across five countries to generate a global leadership community.
Cameron McLeod, Senior Vice President, Independent Agent Brands, Flight Centre Travel Group says the independent brands are set for further expansion due to the attention on delivering support and earnings for agents in the network.
"Everything is geared to enabling our independent agents’ success – better technology, greater opportunity for earnings, responsive support, access to a wider range of inventory, a strong agent community and association with respected brands,” said Cameron McLeod in a written statement.
The independent brands were identified by Turner as key drivers of growth in the leisure sector worldwide.
The brands’ network now extends to US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Independent by Liberty Travel is a group of advisors who are independent, yet part of the expansive Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) family, the parent company of ILT. The company recently held its first North America travel advisor conference in Riviera Maya. More than 100 independent advisors traveled to Karisma’s El Dorado Resort to go to workshops, roundtables, an awards ceremony, and to volunteer at a local school.
