One of Flight Centre Travel Group’s newest brands, Independent by Liberty Travel, held its first North America travel advisor conference in Riviera Maya. Over 100 independent advisors attended the five-day event, held at Karisma’s El Dorado Resort, where Independent by Liberty Travel held workshops, roundtables, an awards ceremony, volunteered at a local school and more.
Over the course of the event’s five days, advisors participated in enrichment workshops through the Independent University program, supplier roundtables, a trade show, site inspections and one-on-one business coaching. On the last night of the conference, Independent by Liberty Travel held an awards ceremony to recognize the brand’s top producers and rising stars. Attendees also volunteered their time at the local school Centro Eduvativo K’iin Beh, where they built shelving and other schoolroom necessities.
More than 25 Flight Centre Travel Group preferred suppliers and family brands joined the event, including cruise, hotel escorted tour and air partners. Also in attendance was Independent by Liberty Travel’s Canadian counterpart Independent by Flight Centre.
Less than a year old, Independent by Liberty Travel has grown to more than 550 advisors. The home-based travel agent brand offers industry-leading commissions on sales and up to a 90 percent commission split. The network provides access to all of Flight Centre Travel Group’s exclusive hotel, air, cruise and tour partners.
