Jackie Friedman, president of Irving, TX-based Nexion, a travel industry host agency and a unit of Travel Leaders Group, has also been named President of the Family Bonds Foundation, a charitable program operated by Travel Leaders Group.
The Family Bonds Foundation was founded in 2015 by John Lovell, president of Travel Leaders Network and Leisure Group, to serve the charitable needs of those who work within travel industry as well as the broader community. Grants are awarded based on a variety of charitable needs ranging from natural disasters to illness to other types of financial hardship.
Friedman, who steps into her new role as part of a planned leadership rotation for the Family Bonds Foundation, now oversees its board of directors and provides strategic direction. She also serves as president of Nexion, a host travel agency that provides tools, technology, marketing, education and support to independent travel professionals.
The board of directors includes Bob Brill (Retired General Counsel, Travel Leaders Group), Doug Carpenter (CFO, Wings Travel Group), Mimi Comfort (President and Owner, Cruise Holidays of Kansas City), Nicole Galowin (Senior Director of Executive Offices & Support Services, Travel Leaders Network and Leisure Group), Scott Nisbet (CEO, Globus family of brands) and Dondra Ritzenthaler (Senior Vice President of Sales, Celebrity Cruises).
