Travel search engine KAYAK has applied the technology of German software start-up QUICKET in order to further enhance the customer experience. Primarily, QUICKET provides KAYAK with information regarding seating and additional offers in over 23,000 aircraft from more than 400 airlines, which are fully integrated into the booking process. In this way, customers of the travel search engine can learn about their legroom, whether Wi-Fi is available on their flight, how far the backrests recline, and more.
Self-learning algorithms search the database which has been constructed, structured and optimized by the developers for years. On this basis, QUICKET can display the seating configuration of an aircraft used on a specific route. The information is incorporated via the QUICKET application programming interface (API). KAYAK, in turn, can make the information available to customers via their portfolio of brands which includes KAYAK, Momondo, Cheapflights, SWOODOO, checkfelix and Mundi.
QUICKET is a Munich-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, specialized on the supply of reliable data about airline extra services in the travel industry. The company implements technologies from the fields of big data, augmented reality, virtual reality and connected mobility and provides an API that enables QUICKET’s customers to obtain information on things like seating, Wi-Fi, catering, luggage or priority boarding and present this information to end customers in a user-friendly form via numerous platforms.
QUICKET was founded in 2012 by the former Microsoft manager Djois Franklin as well as Fred Finn. Employees of their international team have gained work experience at companies like Travelport, Intel, IDEO, Mercedes-Benz, and Facebook.
