Protravel International helped sponsor the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival for the third year this past Saturday. The event’s exclusive travel sponsor, the company offered attendees travel advice and donated nearly $60,000 in vacation packages to be auctioned off.
Eight executives and travel advisors from Protravel came to the festival to provide attendees with travel advice and inspiration. Speaking at Saturday’s Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village on Miami’s South Beach, the attending representatives included Becky Powell, President Protravel; Michele Delgado, Vice President Operations Protravel; Stacey Gallagher, Honey Moss, Ansley Bentley, Lauren Beall and Gina Lux from Protravel Miami; and Paula Rybacki from Protravel New York.
Of the 15 travel experiences Protravel donated, five were put up at a silent auction on Saturday and 10 will be available to the public as part of an online auction that will last through March 6. All proceeds raised will go to the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center.
Florida International University and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits produced the festival with support from the Miami Beach Visitors & Convention Authority and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. The event has raised over $28 million to date for the university’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
