The annual Las Vegas Focus is here to provide readers with a comprehensive update on the most noteworthy happenings in accommodations, attractions and dining. In addition to previewing nearly 20 resorts and over 10 new restaurants, the quick read sales guide reports on the must-try activities for both nighttime and daytime fun.
Always-Changing Accommodations
Las Vegas is a city always in flux, so if your clients want to stay in a new villa, like the revamped Caesars Palace Las Vegas’ Palace Tower, convince them to book soon before the property’s next inevitable renovation. Your clients will revel in Caesars’ new luxury villas, which range from 2,750 to 4,085 square feet and were designed with Ancient Grecian, German Biedermeier, English Regency and French Empire aesthetics in mind. Villa guests will also enjoy access to private elevator entry, 24/7 butler service and airport transfers.
Other hotel renovation on the Strip include: the new REVIV IV Wellness Spa at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the opening of 292-room NoMad Las Vegas as part of Monte Carlo’s $450 million-dollar transformation into the Park MGM; and Harrah’s Las Vegas’ $140 million-dollar renovation, including overhauled guest rooms, seven-day-a-week free, live entertainment and a remodeled casino floor.
Among new hotel openings are Marriot’s The Drew Las Vegas and The Genting Group’s Resorts World Las Vegas—both slated to open in 2020.
Dining & Entertainment
Today, domestic and international travelers alike flock to Las Vegas just as much for its famed dining and entertainment scene as for its world-class accommodations. Provide your foodie clients with a list of hot new openings, including Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace, which received 12,000 reservations before it even debuted in January; Pronto by Giada, Giada De Laurentiis’s second Las Vegas eatery; Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, which serves over-the-top shakes, such as the Bam Bam Fruity Pebbles; and the all-you-can-eat Savor, the Buffett at Tropicana Las Vegas, which serves up made-to-order pasta and American, Asian, Italian and Mexican cuisines.
Shows and concerts have long been major draws for the always-on city and the most recent line up is no exception. Hot tickets include Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin at MGM’s Park Theater, kicking off late this year for a 36-show run through 2020; The Voice: Neon Dreams at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, which features performances from past contestants Alisan Porter, Chris Mann, Mary Sarah and Matt McAndrew; U2 (May 11-12), Pink (May 26) and George Straight (December 7-8) all playing at T-Mobile Arena.
Museum goers can visit The Neon Museum Las Vegas, an audiovisual immersion experience which reanimates 40 of the museum’s iconic vintage signs as well as The Mob Museum, The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, which features two new experiential spaces—Use of Force Training Experience and Crime Lab—which look at methods employed by law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute criminals.
