Car rental company Silvercar has plans to double its flagship airport travel operations by the end of 2018, a major expansion for the brand.
Silvercar is preparing to bring its signature silver Audi A4s to Seattle on July 31 and Orlando on August 28 to kick off this expansion, which will now also offer access to the brand’s app-based rental to over 38 million annual travelers in both cities. Reservations for both cities open Monday, July 10.
Chris Donus, the CFO of Silvercar, said in a written release that “simplicity is the new x-factor,” and the brand wants to serve today’s modern traveler with a customer experience that “meets and exceeds their expectations.”
In addition, Silvercar also has plans in place to update its fleet of Audi A4s that will include brand new 2017 and 2018 models by Q4 of 2017. With this update, Silvercar’s fleet will be upgraded with onboard Wi-Fi, GPS navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio at no additional cost. Silvercar renters will not have to face fuel upcharges, mile restrictions or additional fees for toll charges and car seat rentals.
With the expansion of the brand also comes the expansion of the staff. Former CMO at Car2Go Amber Quist was recently hired as Silvercar’s first CMO, with plans underway to “dramatically expand” the engineering and development teams.
In the press release, CEO of Silvercar Luke Schneider said that the brand’s “innovative spirit” and “unmatched technology” make travel offerings such as car rentals an “integral component of the larger mobility landscape rather than an exception to it.” He said that the brand is excited to continue to grow while also continuing to demonstrate its commitment to “changing the way the world hits the road.”
