Questex Travel Group’s annual leisure travel event, Travel Industry Exchange, commenced yesterday at the Hilton West Palm Beach in West Palm Beach, Florida and will run through October 11th. Travel Industry Exchange, organized by Questex Travel Group, publishers of Travel Agent and Luxury Travel Advisor, had a record number of over 700 travel agents apply for the coveted hosted positions, yet only 15% were accepted based on rigorous criteria required to provide valuable one-to-one appointments to participating travel suppliers.
“Travel Industry Exchange is the finest opportunity suppliers will find in this industry to promote themselves to high producing agents who are eager to learn, develop, and grow their businesses in an environment that is focused on quality interactions,” said Questex Travel Group’s event director, Jill Birkett. “With up to 35, 10-minute one-to-one appointments, participation on a panel to a captive audience, and multiple networking meals and receptions, suppliers will end up with over 12 hours of direct face time with agents.”
Guests arrived yesterday morning and got a head start on a packed three-day schedule as they headed straight into their sessions. They were officially welcomed last night via a poolside reception hosted by the Questex Travel Group and the Hilton West Palm Beach. Plus, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County provided some authentic classical guitar music to elevate the party.
The event continued this morning with a networking breakfast hosted by Sun International, before heading into education breakout sessions and one-to-one appointments between suppliers and agents.
Tonight, all attendees will head to the beautiful PGA National Resort & Spa for a vibrant Glow Golf putting experience, along with cocktails and dinner that every guest can enjoy, whether they’re golf aficionados, or just want to be outside and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather.
Tomorrow, guests will continue to participate by attending informative supplier presentations, followed by additional one-to-one appointments before closing the event with valuable prizes for agents who participated in all scheduled appointments. Winners will be chosen at random.
Sponsors of the event include the host venue the Hilton West Palm Beach, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Dominican Republic Tourism Board, The Hawaiian Islands, PGA National Resort & Spa, Sun International, and Tourism Australia. For more information, visit travelindustryexchange.com.
