AAT Kings has launched its 2023/24 “Guided Holiday” tour season for Australia and New Zealand, including three new South Australia tours. This new season’s offerings focus on positioning South Australia as the next hot international destination.
The new four-day “Outback Explorer: Uluru to Adelaide” will enable guests to connect with living cultural landscapes. They will start their journey in Uluru and witness sunrises and sunsets. Next, they will cross from the Northern Territory into South Australia to visit Coober Pedy with its lunar landscape, which served as the backdrop for the post-apocalyptic movie “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.” Guests will visit Port Augusta, the Wadlata Outback Centre and Adelaide’s wine country before savoring Riesling at Knappstein Wines set in Clare Valley.
The five-day “Adelaide to Kangaroo Island” tour kicks off in Adelaide, home to delicious local produce and only a short drive away from orchards, vineyards and cheesemongers. Kangaroo Island is next on the list, full of untamed landscape and native wildlife. Guests will be hosted at the Kangaroo Island Brewery, where all beers are made using rainwater from a shed top. The next excursion is reserved for wilderness exploration before indulging in a two-course lunch at Vivonne Bay Bistro, serving unexpected treats full of Ligurian bee honey. Guests will learn about Islander Estate Vineyard wines during a tasting session. Lavender lovers will delight at the 10 varieties of flowers they will explore at the Emu Bay Lavender Farm. They can shop for therapeutic souvenirs at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, offering essential oils, body creams, honey, soaps and more.
The seven-day “South Australian Eyre Peninsula” trip starts with a tour of Eyre Peninsula. The journey continues with guests exploring Kimba in Streaky Bay, a town established for pioneering back in 1915, where they can view art displays of murals painted on the town’s silos. They can enjoy a coastal scenic drive and before indulging in a seafood fest on a cruise around the bay and spot seal pups at Point Labatt Conservation Park. They will then view the 1,500-million-year-old pink granite boulders at Murphy’s Haystacks and honeycomb-patterned rocks at Talia Caves. Guests can spot dolphins at Coffin Bay and enjoy an oyster farm tour. Off-grid organic orchards and gardens await guests on a Wild Yarnbala tour where they will explore indigenous culture and sample bush food while enjoying a didgeridoo performance. The next day, they will cruise the gulf to Wallaroo to see Lake Bumbunga.
Aligning with the new season launch, AAT Kings has also introduced new tour highlights: “First Choice - Wildlife & Nature” and “Best Buys - Natural Wonders.” These experiences showcase the wild, natural elements of AAT Kings tours, be it visiting ancient red rock cliffs at Kings Canyon or whale watching over the Pacific.
