Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary Acquires Alaska Zipline Adventures

Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, LLC announced today that it has acquired longtime Juneau zip line operator, Alaska Zipline Adventures. Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary already owns and operates several other tours, including three zip line courses through its company, Alaska Canopy Adventures.

There are no major changes planned for Alaska Zipline Adventures this upcoming summer season. Amenities including its tree house platforms, axe-throwing experience and relaxing lodge, will continue to be offered.

“This change in ownership will not affect the zip line experience. All of the features that customers know and love will still be available,” said Brien Salazar, co-founder of the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary and CEO/president of Taquan Air.

Alaska Zipline Adventures offers canopy tours, combo tours, and group tours that include visits to local parks and landmarks, as well as group adventures with transportation, safety equipment, gear and snacks included in the bundle. Minimum age is 8 years old and all participants must fall between 70 lbs to 250 lbs and meet the physical requirements of the tours.

The tours include ziplining through the heart Tongass National Forest at Eaglecrest Ski Area in Juneau; as well as a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier. At the Glacier, one of the most-visited spots in Alaska, guests can take self-guided walks around the nearby trails as they take in the scenic views.

Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary is a leader in Southeast Alaska leisure activities and attractions. In addition to its rainforest sanctuary in Ketchikan, the company operates Spirit of Alaska Tours, providing experiences ranging from "flightseeing" to off-road vehicle tours to zip lining in Ketchikan and Juneau.
