The recent introduction of electronic visas for American travelers going to Brazil has spurred growth in the number of independent travelers booking travel to Brazil, reports Avanti Destinations. Avanti notes it has double the bookings for Brazil this year versus the same time last year. It also introduced new accommodation and tour options in Brazil, as well as in the Galapagos Islands.
“As soon as the news about e-visa came out, we saw a spike in bookings to Brazil, and it has continued,” said Avanti president and CEO Harry Dalgaard in a written release. “Our most popular Brazilian destinations have always been Rio and Iguazu Falls, but there are a growing number of bookings for Sao Paulo, the Amazon, and especially the smaller beach towns like Buzios and Paraty, which is a lovely, preserved colonial gem.”
New Options in Paraty
Just added to Avanti’s selection of accommodations in Paraty is a luxurious new 4-star, nine-room pousada, the Casa Turquesa. Avanti offers three other pousadas in Paraty, as well as private transfers and three tours. The fourth and latest tour added this month is a schooner boat cruise with lunch. Guests visit islands in the bay and can go swimming or snorkeling.
New Galapagos Options
Avanti also reports that 2017 saw double-digit growth over 2016 in bookings to Ecuador, specifically the Galapagos. In response, the company added four new ships for Galapagos cruises, bringing the total to 15 ships. Two of the four new ships are deluxe vessels.
For travelers who prefer to overnight on land, Avanti added an island-hopping itinerary, which can be custom-designed and booked for three to seven nights. It includes all air, boat and ground transfers, guided eco-tours, all meals and national park fees. Rates start at $2,995 per person based on double occupancy for four days/three nights.
