Tour operator Avanti Destinations has introduced several new FIT tours to its selection on Argentina activities. Noting an increasing demand for destinations outside of Buenos Aires, Avanti has announced new independent travel programs to the glaciers of Patagonia, the vineyards of Mendoza and the scenic lake district of Bariloche.
The first two new FIT trips focus on Patagonia’s glaciers. The full-day El Calafate Shared Glaciers Boat & Private Perito Moreno Glacier Tour starts off with a boat ride to the Spegazzini Glacier and Upsala Glacier. Guests will then move on to the Perito Moreno Glacier, where they will receive a private walking tour along the paths on the front of the glacier. The shorter El Calafate Private Glaciarium Ice Museum Tour consists of a 3.5-hour educational tour of this new educational center that has been dedicated to explaining how glaciers form and the threat global warming pose to them.
Avanti Destinations has also rolled out two new Mendoza tours. The first, a shared biking and tasting tour, offers seven hours of cycling through three different vineyards, where travelers will learn about and sample the local wines. The other is a five-hour horseback riding and vineyard tour. Following a 1.5-hour ride, guests will eat a local lunch featuring empanadas, a complete adado and a variety of wines.
The tour company also introduced the seven-hour Bariloche Victoria Island and Arrayanes Forest Tour. The trip begins with a 1.5-hour sail on Lake Nahuel Huapi. This is followed by a guided walk through the Arrayanes Forest, a national monument dedicated to protecting the rare arrayan tree. Guests will return to the water, where they will take a boat to Victoria Island for lunch and a walk through a diverse coniferous forest.
