Beginning on July 24, National Tequila Day, travelers will have the chance to book CheapCaribbean’s new tour, “Te Amo Tequila.” From Puerto Vallarta to Tequila, Mexico, the behind-the-scenes tour will introduce guests to the production process of Mexico’s signature spirit.
Led by tequila enthusiast and mixologist Jay Schroeder, guests will have the opportunity to learn tequila pairing practices and observe the production process from start to finish. They will explore agave farms, local distilleries, and sample the final product in private tequila tasting rooms.
Highlights from the itinerary include:
Mex-ology Tour
On a four-hour guided tour through downtown Puerto Vallarta, guests will be introduced to local cuisine, indigenous spirits and regional cocktails. Guests will sample tequila, mezcal, raicilla and local craft beer mixed by a master Mexican mixologist whilst enjoying Vallarta’s signature tacos.
Overnight Stay at Matices Hotel de Barricas
Just outside of Tequila, Mexico, guests will sleep in real-life tequila barrels at the tequila themed Matices Hotel de Barricas. Located within a tequila factory, each of the barrel rooms on property are named after a type of tequila made at the distillery.
Tasting at La Cata
La Cata is the first independent tequila tasting room in Tequila, Mexico. Just off the main plaza, guests will be able to choose from La Cata’s expansive collection of Mexican spirits for sampling and learn more about the process from their team of agave educators.
The booking window for “Te Amo Tequila” begins July 24 and ends September 20, 2019 for travel from December 5-11, 2019. Tour fares begin at $1,999 per person departing from Los Angeles International Airport.
