CIE Tours International introduced its new Irish Foodie Tours, set to run from June through September next year. The seven-night guided trips visit a whiskey distillery, a family-run goat farm and historic markets, as well as some of Ireland’s most famous landmarks.
In Dublin guests will embark on a tea tour of the city, riding aboard a vintage double-decker bus. A visit to The Dublin Liberties Distillery will follow, offering whiskey tastings and education. Travelers will finish off their time in the capital with a cooking class and friendly cooking competition at an elite Dublin cooking school.
Traveling on to Cork, guests will visit a family-run farm and taste goat cheese and yoghurt. At the historic English Market of Cork, which goes back to 1788, visitors can taste traditional Irish dishes like tripe and drisheen.
Along the coast, guests will stop in Kerry for a chocolate making class, led by an award-winning pastry chef. Led by local experts, travelers will walk along the seashore for seaweed foraging while learning about the nutritional, horticultural and cosmetic benefits of the plant. After a ferry ride to Clare, guests will visit a cheese farm in Inagh.
Aside from culinary stops, travelers will see some of Ireland’s more famous landmarks. Some highlights include the monastic sights of Glendalough; Blarney Castle; the ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell, Derryane House; and the Cliffs of Moher.
Throughout the trip, guests will stay in top hotels, including the Clayton Hotel Charlemont in Dublin, The Bayview at Ballycotton, the Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa in Tralee and the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Limerick. CIE Tours will offer the Irish Foodie trip four times next summer, starting on June 15, July 12, August 17 and September 7.
