EF Go Ahead Tours, a provider of education-based travel experiences, is expanding its collection of Africa tours with two new itineraries to Kenya, one which is specifically geared for solo-only travelers, an increasingly popular style of travel. The move comes following an increase in demand for travel to Africa: In the past four months, EF Go Ahead Tours has seen an increase in sales to the continent by 47 percent (compared to overall 27 percent sales increase over last year).
The two new tours to Kenya, one of the world’s premier places for wildlife-spotting, place a heavy emphasis on the country’s conservation and preservation efforts with a strong focus on everything that Kenya has to offer beyond the animal kingdom and game reserves. Travelers opting for the new tours can meet with organizations working to improve the lives of locals and NGOs working to protect animals and visit communities to meet with artisans and other welcoming locals.
The "Kenya Wildlife Safari for Solo Travelers" is a 10-day tour for six to 12 travelers and can be stretched to 13 days with a Zanzibar extension. This solo-only tour includes visits to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant nursery where one will learn about orphaned elephants, their trusted keepers and the organization’s conservations work across Kenya. Travelers will also visit Sandstorm Kenya, a company that began as a maker of safari tents and now employs 40 Maasai craftspeople who hand-make totes, backpacks, and other styles of bags from locally sourced canvas and leather. Another highlight will include a visit to the famous Amboseli National Park to experience game drives and visit with an NGO to hear from locals and park rangers who work together to protect the wildlife and stop poachers.
The "Kenya Culture & Wildlife Safari: Samburu to Maasai Mara" is an 11-day tour for six to 20 travelers, which can be extended to 14 days with Southern Kenya extension. Not only will one enjoy game drives around the Maasai Mara, but travelers will also spend time exploring lesser-known locales. Among them is the Samburu National Reserve, which has a rare mix of animals. Kenya has much to offer beyond the animal kingdom, too, which travelers will discover when they stop for lunch at a lush tea farm and visit the Ubuntu Life Foundation that provides health and education services and promotes inclusion of children with special needs across the country.
These two new tours of Kenya join several other tours that EF Go Ahead Tours runs to Africa, including trips to Tanzania, Egypt, Morocco, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ghana, and South Africa.
