Eurobound Launches New 20-Day France Tour

Eurobound has created a new 20-day independent tour showcasing France, from Normandy in the north to the French Riviera in the south. The itinerary covers five destinations, with six nights in Paris, four nights in Aix-en-Provence, and three nights each in Bayeux, Bordeaux and Nice. The package includes accommodation in four- and five-star hotels with breakfast, private transfers, first-class rail travel between destinations, private and small-group touring, market visits, wine tastings and a cooking class.

The itinerary begins with a transfer from Paris to Bayeux, Normandy for three nights. Two days of private touring with a driver-guide cover Mont Saint-Michel with its medieval abbey and the D-Day Beaches, including the American Cemetery. A highlight is lunch at Commando’s, a privately owned chateau. Located five minutes from Omaha Beach, the chateau served as a hiding place for a British commando during World War II.

In Paris, two private morning tours introduce guests to the Louvre Museum and Musée d’Orsay. A full-day, small-group tour visits castles of the Loire Valley, with lunch and wine tasting, while the Champagne region is highlighted on a full-day tour with a private driver-guide. Eurobound guests visit Reims, Hautvillers and Epernay, along with champagne tastings at the House of Champagne in Reims and a small family producer in Epernay.

Wine is the focus in Bordeaux, where one day is devoted to a small-group tour to the village of Saint-Émilion. The tour includes three chateaux with wine tastings, along with a walking tour of Saint-Émilion. An early-evening wine-tasting experience at a centrally located wine bar awaits the following day, as guests enjoy a “Grand Crus Classé“ tasting session.

The stay in Aix-en-Provence includes three half-day private tours to markets in Avignon, L’Isle sur la Sorgue and Aix. In nearby Avignon, guests meet a local chef, tour the covered marketplace, select produce and attend a cooking class before enjoying lunch with the chef. Also included is a visit to the Sunday market at L’Isle sur la Sorgue and a gourmet walking tour of the Aix-en-Provence market with tastings of local specialties.

The French Riviera caps off the itinerary, with two private tours from Nice. A full day is devoted to Monaco and to the medieval, hilltop village of Eze, complete with a shopping visit to a perfumery. Cannes is part of a half-day tour, including the newly renovated Forville market, a local institution.

Good to know: The itinerary is also available in smaller, separate segments for travelers who have less time or who wish to concentrate on one or more areas.
