Extraordinary Journeys has added Colombia to its portfolio of destinations across the globe. The tour operator is expanding its South America offerings with three itineraries to the destination.
Extraordinary Journeys is offering three itineraries ranging from five to 14 days. The 14-day “Journey Deep into Colombia” itinerary covers Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena, with a visit to the coffee-growing region.
Guests will arrive in Bogotá and take a private transfer to Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota. They can take a full-day guided city tour, including the Gold Museum, Botero Museum and La Candelaria neighborhood. Other highlights include a tour of Zipaquira, located an hour outside of Bogotá, to visit the Salt Cathedral; lunch at Andres Carne de Res; and a cable-car ride to Monserrate.
Guests can fly to the coffee-growing region and stay at Hacienda Bambusa. They can enjoy a cacao tour, followed by a lunchtime cooking class. A full-day tour of Salento, Cocora Valley and Finlandia is included in the trip.
In Medellín, guests can stay at Patio del Mundo. The city is full of beautiful buildings, parks and plazas, and the Andes along its outer edges. Guests can take a full-day guided city tour, including Comuna 13.
In Cartagena, guests will stay at Casa San Agustin. Located on the Caribbean coast and hugged by centuries-old stone walls, Cartagena features preserved history, such as 16th-century aqueducts and 17th-century monasteries. Guests can enjoy a guided walking tour; a sunset cocktail at Cafe del Mar; a full day at Acasí, the private beach; and a walking tour of the Getsemani neighborhood.
The 10-day “Highlights of Colombia” itinerary includes Bogotá, Cartagena and the coffee-growing region. Highlights include the Botero Museum; the La Candelaria neighborhood; and the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira. In Colombia’s coffee region, guests will stay at Hacienda Bambusa for three nights and enjoy hikes, cooking classes, and cacao and coffee tours. In Cartagena, guests will check-in at Casa San Agustin, ending the day with a walking tour and a sunset cocktail at Cafe Del Mar. They will also explore the neighborhood of Getsemani, which is home to bars, restaurants and galleries. On their final day in Cartagena, guests can hire a boat to Acasí, a private beach on the island of Barú. Facilities include a cabana and loungers, a full kitchen, outdoor showers and hammocks.
On the five-day “Short Break to Beaches, Culture, and Sunsets” guests can explore Cartagena with a four-night stay at Casa San Agustin. They can explore two different sides of Cartagena on guided walking tours: the Old Town, its history and colonial architecture; and the neighborhood of Getsemani. The trip will end with a visit to Acasí beach. Guests can enjoy local cuisine and beverages. Snorkeling gear and kayaks will also be available.
