How to Take a Road Trip From Florence in a Ferrari

Affluent clients looking to go the extra mile during their Italy vacation can now do so in a Ferrari of their choice. In partnership with Red Travel, the Salviatino Collection launched the “Italy Full Throttle” experience earlier this year.

Inspired by a blend of art, fashion, architecture, gastronomy and beautiful scenery, the self-drive tour combines lavishness with a unique Gran Turismo experience. Clients begin their three-day Italian tour with an overnight stay at Il Salviatino, a hand-restored 15th-century villa in the rolling hills of Tuscany, overlooking the pulsing city of Florence.

The next morning, a Red Travel tour director and expert Ferrari driver introduces guests to the world of Ferrari, preparing them for the drive of a lifetime through the Tuscan countryside and into the Veneto region. The experience kicks off with a full Ferrari briefing and three models to choose from.

The self-drive tour, guided by the tour director via mobile radio system, passes through the Mugello area (world-famous host of the Moto GP Grand Prix of Italy), and medieval villages and landscapes that are a feast for the eyes. Guests also zoom by the Passo della Raticosa for a coffee, and visit balsamic vinegar producer Villa San Donnino for a tasting. Upon arrival to Maranello, guests visit the Ferrari Museum and store. After an adrenaline-filled ride to the romantic, ancient town of Verona, travelers check in to Palazzo Victoria, a centrally located gem that seamlessly blends romantic Italian history with modernity.

The Red Travel-Salviatino Collection experience includes five-star accommodations for two nights at Il Salviatino (Fiesole).

Other services included are five-star accommodations for two nights at Il Salviatino (Fiesole) and Palazzo Victoria (Verona), with breakfast; a three-course dinner at both properties, Il Salviatino and Palazzo Victoria; a full Ferrari briefing; a self-drive tour through Florence, Maranello and Verona by Ferrari; a full-casco car insurance for all cars and up to about 180 miles of Ferrari driving; a mobile radio system (guests and Red Travel staff, while driving, are always connected through radio); the service of parking, cleaning, and refueling of the car; visits included in the itinerary and photography with high-resolution pictures available to guests.

Red Travel’s car portfolio includes the Ferrari 488 Spider, Ferrari California T and Ferrari 458 Spider. A nearly $10,700 deposit is required for each Ferrari (roughly $21,350 for the Ferrari 488 Spider). A tailor-made program is also available and includes alternative itineraries and activities such as golf, yachting, hot-air ballooning, shopping tours, cooking lessons and wine tasting tours.

Advisors looking to book the experience should contact Silvia Manganaro (silvia@salviatino.com), director of sales and marketing.
