Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) has announced that Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures is relaunching for its historic 40th season this spring. Visitors can take the “Hoover Dam Raft Tour” and “Hoover Dam Postcard Tour” every Thursday through Sunday beginning March 2. Additionally, the first 500 visitors booking tours beginning April 1 will receive a waterproof dry bag valued at over $25.
Offering excursions along the Black Canyon National Water Trail on the Colorado River, all tours include up-close photo opportunities at the base of the Hoover Dam beneath the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge—the widest single-arch concrete bridge in the Western Hemisphere. Visitors enjoy a journey down the Colorado River while riding motor-assisted, inflatable rafts through the Black Canyon. Guides share their knowledge of this area and its native species, including the desert bighorn sheep, osprey and great blue heron.
“Hoover Dam Raft Tour” is a day-trip experience includes stops along the shore below Hoover Dam where guests can relax among the calm waters of the Colorado River. Guests begin their journey at Lake Mead RV Village for check in at 9:30 a.m. before embarking on a three-hour rafting tour, which includes lunch or a special meal catered by request. Visitors end their rafting journey at Willow Beach Marina & Campground, where they will board buses for the return trip over the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge back to Lake Mead RV Village. This tour is free for children four and under and starts at $110 for children ages five to 15 and $125 for guests 16 years or older. Adult admission does not include the $15 National Park entrance fee. For adult passengers holding National Park, Golden Age, Eagle or Access passes, the entry fee will be waived. Round-trip transportation to and from Las Vegas hotels is also available for $69 per person.
For visitors who have limited time to spend on the water, the “Hoover Dam Postcard Raft Tour” offers an expedited experience of the Hoover Dam and Colorado River. Guests begin their journey at the Hoover Dam Lodge in Boulder City, Nevada, for check in at 10:30 a.m. before embarking on a one-and-a-half-hour journey along the river. Guests enjoy up-close views of the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge while rafting along the Colorado River at the base of the Hoover Dam before boarding tour buses back to the Hoover Dam Lodge. This tour is free for children four and under and starts at $49 for children ages five to 15 and $69 for guests 16 years or older. Snacks and beverages are included.
Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures also offers private and customizable charters for small and large groups.
