The new itineraries offer something for every kind of traveler: The “Korean Wave” for K-pop buffs, featuring filming locations, hip neighborhoods and the destination’s iconic cuisine; the “Essential South Korea” itinerary covering all the major sites in a wallet-friendly way; and the “South Korea Family Adventure,” an active, teen-friendly itinerary fit for the whole family.
The 13-day “Korean Wave” itinerary offers travelers the opportunity to experience K-culture hotspots in Seoul, Jeonju, Busan and Gangneung. Seoul’s K-wave locations include K-Star Road and Starfield Library. Travelers can explore the backdrop to many famous K-pop videos on an excursion to the abandoned theme park, Yongma Land, or learn the hottest new dance moves in a K-pop dance class.
In Jeonju, travelers will be transported to some of their favorite K-dramas, with the chance to rent a traditional hanbok and wander the cobblestone streets. They will also stay in a traditional hanok guest house. Besides sandy beaches and towering high-rises, Busan is also home to the Hapcheon Movie Theme Park, one of the largest film and television studio sets in Korea. In Gangneung, guests can visit the BTS Bus Stop before walking the sandy shores of Yeongjin Beach or taking in the immersive exhibits at the ARTE Museum.
The eight-day “Essential South Korea” itinerary is designed for budget-savvy travelers, and focuses on the historical cities of Seoul and Busan. In Seoul, visitors can explore the city’s Mapo district with a Korean barbecue tour, discover South Korea’s nightlife in the buzzing university district of Hongdae. Other highlights include the Bukhansan National Park and a day trip to the ancient town of Gyeongju, home to the Bulguksa temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers will have the chance to customize their trip in Busan. They can tour the town on the Haeundae beach train or by cable car, savor local dishes from the street food market, and choose from any of the city’s seven beaches.
The 14-day “South Korea Family Adventure” itinerary includes the buzzing cities of Seoul and Busan, and the tropical shores of Jeju Island. The trip begins in Seoul, a lively metropolis flush with markets, restaurants and historical sites. Visitors can explore the city on a bike tour, from the streets of Bukchon Hanok Village up to Inwangsan Mountain. They can enjoy a zipline excursion to the Han River’s picturesque Nami Island. In Busan, they can relax on the beach or wander the vibrant markets; and enjoy a day trip to Tongyeong, a bustling port city known for its seafood and range of outdoor activities.
