Island Routes Expands to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Island Routes is expanding to a new destination in 2024: St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Travelers can enjoy 29 shared and private experiences that run the gamut from high adventure to immersive cultural moments.

Located in the southeast Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a single country comprising 32 islands and cays, of which only nine are inhabited. Here are five sample Island Routes experiences available to travelers headed to St. Vincent this year:

  • Montreal Gardens & Botanical Gardens Experience” – During this four-hour tour, travelers will explore the country’s botanical garden, the oldest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. Here, they will encounter the national bird of St. Vincent and the Grenadines before embarking on a scenic drive through Kingstown, St. Vincent’s capital. The scenic journey gradually unfolds into the lush embrace of the Montreal Gardens, soaring 1,476 feet above sea level.
  • Whale & Dolphin Watching Experience” – This experience includes a three-hour adventure where travelers will explore the leeward coastline of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. They can watch dolphins make graceful leaps out of the water, breaking the water’s surface to put on a show and glimpse pilot, humpback or sperm whales at play. Then, they can enjoy a cruise along the black sand-lined beach of Mt. Wynne, the iconic filming location of “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
  • Mustique & Bequia Island Hopping Experience” – During this five-hour experience, travelers will embark on an exploration of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, beginning with a snorkeling escapade at Petit Nevis, where crystal-clear waters teem with marine life and vibrant coral formations. The adventure continues to Mustique, where guides will unveil the island’s history and iconic residences. Guests can shop at quaint boutiques, soak up the sun, and go snorkeling in Britannia Bay. Next up is a visit to Basil’s Bar, known for its celebrity clientele, followed by an exploration of Bequia and lunch at Princess Margaret’s Beach.
  • Private La Soufriere Leeward Hike” – This private and fully guided experience takes travelers on a six-and-a-half-hour journey to La Soufriere, one of the world’s most extensively studied volcanoes. This hike will lead guests from sea level to an elevation of 3,000 feet, beginning with a scenic walk along Richmond Beach, traversing a volcanic gorge known as Wallibou River, which serves as the gateway to the trailhead and onto the summit where hikers will immerse themselves in the panoramic views and savor a light snack.
  • Private Yoga & Vegan Tasting Experience” – This four-hour private experience begins with a ride through the village of Vermont and into the hills of Queensbury for a day that includes a one-hour yoga session; the chance to discover the culinary history of St. Vincent while learning about and indulging in traditional vegan Ital food prepared “Vincy style” over an open fire and cooked in a Yabah pot; and a visit to a river, where guests can awaken their senses and leave with a renewed spirit.
