Mayflower Tours has named a new president, as well as made some updates to its sales team.
The company has promoted 31-year hospitality industry veteran Nish Patel to president, effective immediately. Patel had been chief operating officer of the company, and prior to that, he was its chief information officer.
John Stachnik, current Mayflower Tours president, is co-owner of the company, along with his wife, Mary. He will move to the chairman position.
John Stachnik said that Patel’s 17 years of experience with the company in all areas allows him to speak with authority on a wide variety of aspects of the business. Mary Stachnik said that Patel’s strong expertise in technology, airline and supplier relationships, as well as his managerial experience, make him a valuable asset to the company.
“During these past 17 years, I have been mentored by John and Mary Stachnik,” Patel said. “The trust they have placed in me has allowed us to explore new areas and successfully launch new programs. I have a fantastic team here and with their support we will continue on the path of success in the coming years.”
At the same time, the company has hired Michel Madjerich as its new sales manager located in the Southeast. Madjerich will act as liaison to group accounts in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida.
Madjerich said she has worked to cultivate “pied pipers” in the travel industry in order to secure group business.
Madjerich has over 15 years of travel industry experience working for travel providers, including Scenic River Cruises, Delta Vacations, and Celebrity Cruises. She also has a strong background in generating leisure group business for Fortune 500 companies and is dedicated to cultivating specialty niche groups, Mayflower said.
