REI Adventures, an active travel company of national outdoor co-op REI, has introduced a new program for travel agents. Qualified professionals and agencies will be incentivized with commission and trips for personal enjoyment based on departed reservations, the company said.
“For many years the travel agent community has expressed enthusiasm to partner as they share our passion for a healthy outdoor lifestyle and adventurous spirit to explore the world,” said Cynthia Dunbar, general manager of REI Adventures, in a written release. “The travel industry is centered on relationships. Just as REI members trust our expertise to guarantee an unforgettable vacation, so do the clients of travel agents.”
To sell REI Adventures, an agent is required to be an accredited professional and demonstrate their knowledge about the co-op’s travel assortment and brand through a specially designed onboarding program. Upon approval, agents will have access to REI Adventures’ travel agent portal and access to ongoing education. REI Adventures will incentivize agents based on their individual sales and departed reservations, including a tiered commission structure and opportunities to earn significantly reduced and/or free trips for their personal enjoyment.
Accredited professionals and agencies can learn more at https://www.rei.com/adventures/resources/travel-agents.html or by emailing travelagents@rei.com.
REI Adventures offers more than 150 active travel itineraries worldwide, with resident guides that can provide access to a number of attractions. Trips are also designed with minimal environmental impact in mind.
