Trafalgar is creating a new role that it says is dedicated to recognizing the importance of the independent travel consultant sales channel: director of host accounts. The company has promoted Ashley Vaughan to the new role, where she will continue to report to Trafalgar Vice President of Sales Whitney Ramirez.
As director of host accounts, Vaughan will expand upon the initiatives she developed to meet the unique needs of independent contractors, ranging from product training to a slate of support skills development on essential topics including social media, sales techniques and digital / dynamic marketing. Her responsibilities will also include sister Trafalgar brands Brendan Vacations and Costsaver.
In a written statement, Ramirez described the creation of the new position as making “formal a role Ashley has truly created on her own.”
“ITCs are motivated entrepreneurs and the fastest growing sector of the travel advisor channel which is why we are deeply invested in helping them succeed with opportunities such as our exclusive ITC past guest referral program,” said Vaughan. “We also know that these agents tend to be new to the travel industry, so education is priority. To share all that Trafalgar offers, we host an annual fam trip designed specifically for independent travel consultants and created the ITC Road Tripping agent education program.”
Vaughan joined Trafalgar as a business development manager in 2010.
In other news for independent travel advisors, Trafalgar reports that it is hosting a series of ITC Road Tripping events this spring:
- May 2 – New York City
- May 3 – Denver
- May 7 – Chicago
- May 9 – Philadelphia
