Adventure travel company Wild Frontiers has acquired Myths and Mountains, a bespoke travel operator specializing in Asia and Southeast Asia.
Myths and Mountains was founded 33 years ago by Dr. Antonia (Toni) Neubauer, who has been recognized as a Condé Nast Traveler Top Travel Specialist for Bhutan, India and Nepal as well as Trusted Travel Expert for Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar on Wendy Perrin’s WOW List. Neubauer is also the founder of READ Global, a non-profit global organization dedicated to building rural library community centers and seeding sustaining businesses as catalysts for development.
In a written statement Jonny Bealby, founder of Wild Frontiers, said that the deal would allow the company to offer its clients further expertise in Asia and Southeast Asia. Neubauer said that the move would provide her clients with options in Latin America, the Caucuses, India, the Far East and more.
Wild Frontiers is an adventure travel company that has a history of bringing commercial conflict zones back into alternative commercial travel. In the last few years, the company says that it has reintroduced trips to Afghanistan, Kashmir, the North Caucasus and Iran, as well as other destinations.
Founded by travel author and writer Jonny Bealby in 2002, Wild Frontiers specializes in small group travel experiences for up to 12 people as well as tailor-made trips to hundreds of destinations around the world. The company established a philanthropic arm, The Wild Frontiers Foundation, in 2009; the foundation provides a create awareness, raise money and deliver funding to projects throughout the developing world.
