Alaska Airlines recently inaugurated two new flight itineraries which took off for the first time this week. The carrier now provides daily, nonstop service from San Jose, California to Austin, Texas, and Tuscon, Arizona. With these additions, from Mineta San Jose International Airport Alaska now offers nonstop service to 18 destinations with a total of 31 daily departures. "I am excited to welcome the new daily San Jose - Austin route launch by Alaska Airlines. This important business route will connect two major global tech hubs and will serve thousands of Silicon Valley residents and workers," said Assemblyman Marc Berman, District 24, Palo Alto.
These additions are the most recent developments in Alaska Airlines’ campaign to meet the needs of Silicon Valley travelers. Previously announced routes including daily flights from San Jose to Newark, New Jersey and thrice-daily flights from San Jose to Burbank, California; both of these services began on March 20. A four times daily service from San Jose to Los Angeles is also set to begin on September 20.
Alaska Airlines, together with Virgin America and its regional partners fly 40 million travelers annually to 118 destinations around the world, with an average of 1,200 daily flights across the United States and to Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica and Cuba.
