Alaska Airlines has begun nonstop service between San Diego and Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport. San Diego is the third West Coast city to see nonstop service to Mexico's largest metropolitan city with Los Angeles and San Francisco added in August 2017. Alaska Airlines is now offering more than 100 flights a week to Mexico from California, more than any other U.S. carrier.
The year-round, nonstop service is the ninth destination Alaska Airlines serves to Mexico. The other destinations with service from California include Cancun, Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo, Loreto, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. The airline began flying to Mexico in 1988, and has been expanding its service since then.
Here is the added flight schedule:
- San Diego to Mexico City: Departs at 7:05 a.m. and arrives at 12:50 p.m. every day.
- Mexico City to San Diego: Departs at 7:25 p.m. and arrives at 9:37 p.m. every day.
The Mexico City flights will be flown on the Embraer 175 Aircraft, operated by SkyWest Airlines. On board, guests will get Alaska’s award-winning service, along with amenities that include a selection of food and beverage inspired by local chefs, custom leather seats with adjustable headrests, and power outlets in the first-class cabin. Also included is Alaska Beyond Entertainment, which offers over 200 free movies and TV shows direct to customers’ own devices.
Alaska Airlines, together with Virgin America and its regional partners, flies 40 million guests a year to more than 115 destinations with an average of 1,200 daily flights across the United States and to Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, and Cuba.
