As destinations across the Caribbean continue recovery efforts following the damage caused by Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma, a number of airlines are still offering flight waivers for travelers who were impacted by the storms.
American Airlines
Customers scheduled to travel through Santa Clara, Cuba, through October 30 can rebook through November 15 within the same cabin (or pay the difference). They can also change their origin or destination city within 200 miles.
Travelers flying through Key West, Florida, through October 12 can rebook for travel through October 15. They can change their origin or destination city within 600 miles.
Customers flying through Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos through November 30 can rebook through December 31. Travelers headed through St. Thomas and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands through April 2, 2018, can rebook through September 30, 2018. Customers flying through St. Maarten through August 31, 2018, can rebook through September 30, 2018. For customers scheduled to fly through San Juan, Puerto Rico, through November 30, they can rebook through March 31, 2018. For all of these airports, rebooked travel must be between the same city pair. Travelers can change their origin or destination city, but a difference in fare will apply.
Customers traveling through Antigua and Nassau, the Bahamas, through September 30, can rebook through November 15. Travelers scheduled to fly through other affected Caribbean airports through September 30 can rebook through October 7. Rebooked travel must be between the same city pair.
United Airlines
Customers on United Airlines scheduled to travel through Florida airports, Antigua and Nassau through September 30 can rebook through November 15 between the same city pair. For rebooked travel after November 15, or for a change in departure or destination city, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply. Rescheduled travel must be completed within one year from the date when the ticket was issued.
Travelers scheduled to fly through Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos, St. Thomas and St. Maarten through April 2, 2018, can rebook through April 2, 2018 between the same city pair. For rebooked travel after April 2, 2018, or for a change in departure or destination city, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply. All tickets must be reissued through October 31.
Customers flying through Puerto Rico through October 12 can rebook through October 15 between the same city pair. For rebooked travel after October 15, or for a change in departure or destination city, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply. Rescheduled travel must be completed within one year from the date when the ticket was issued.
Finally, travelers scheduled to fly through other affected Caribbean airports through September 30 can rebook through October 7 between the same city pair. For rebooked travel after October 7, or for a change in departure or destination city, the change fee will be waived, but a difference in fare may apply. Rescheduled travel must be completed within one year from the date when the ticket was issued.
Delta
Delta customers can rebook if they were scheduled to fly through the Dominican Republic through September 30. The ticket must be reissued on or before October 7 with rebooked travel to begin no later than that date.
Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is offering customers with reservations for flights through San Juan through October 15, as well as Punta Cana through September 30, the ability to rebook in the original class of service or travel standby within 14 days of their original date of travel.
JetBlue
JetBlue customers scheduled to fly through Puerto Rico through December 15 can rebook new flights by November 1, with rebooked travel to be completed by December 15. St. Croix customers flying through November 15 can rebook new flights by November 1, with travel to be completed by November 15. St. Maarten customers flying through May 1, 2018, can rebook new flights by October 15, 2017, with travel to be completed by May 18, 2018. Customers flying through St. Thomas through January 15, 2018, can rebook new flights by October 15, 2017, with travel to be completed by January 15, 2018. Finally, travelers flying through Santa Clara, Cuba, through September 30, can rebook new flights through October 15, with travel to be completed by October 31.
